Events and Festivals

There are many annual events and festivals in the Leeds and Grenville region, to look forward to every year. Below is a list of many of the most popular annual events in the region. If you would like to see an annual event added to this list, please contact us.

January

Skate the Lake (Portland, Ontario) is a marathon speed skating race, attracting thousands of visitors each year. This event is becoming more popular every year and even celebrities have begun attending the race!

April

Delta Maple Syrup Festival (Delta) is a village-wide celebration featuring all-you-can-eat pancakes, wagon rides, tours through sugar bushes, and crafts at the local fire hall.

May

Multicultural Festival (Brockville) is an annual festival celebrating the ethnic and cultural diversity of our community. 

June

The 1000 Islands Jazz Festival (Brockville) has become a premiere jazz destination rightfully earning the title of the “Best Small Jazz Festival in Canada”.

The 1000 Islands Food and Wine Festival (Brockville) celebrates local cuisine and wine. It is held at the Brockville Memorial Centre over two days at the end of June.

July

Delta Fair (Delta) presents fun for the whole family with home-crafts, agricultural displays, parade, entertainment each evening, midway and children's activities.

Farmersville Steam Fair & Craft Show (Athens) attracts thousands of people each year. They come to see the antique farm equipment, horse pulls, craft show and to attend the Farmersville dance.

Gananoque Ribfest (Gananoque) brings fun for the whole family with a petting zoo, a fishing derby, a special kids’ zone, and of course, delicious ribs cooked up by some of the Canada and the USA’s best “ribbers”.

Harbour Days (Prescott) is a time to celebrate community and Prescott’s beautiful location on the St. Lawrence River. This exciting festival has family fun activities, live musical entertainment, a dance, plus many more fun events.

Lansdowne Fair (Lansdowne) promotes and celebrates agriculture in the Lansdowne Area. During the fair, you can take lessons on arranging flowers, cooking, making crafts, and more. There is also a mini king and queen contest, youth ambassador, fair ambassador and senior sovereignty couple, parade, western & heavy horses, horse pull, demo derby, and midway.

Lombardy Fair (Lombardy) offers fun for the full family all day and every day during the Fair. For lots of excitement, come see the horse and pony pull, the antique tractor pulls, the demolition derby, machinery displays, a petting zoo, and terrific rides, games, and foods offerings. And, there is always great entertainment in the evenings!

St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival (Prescott) brings the timeless works of William Shakespeare to life, inspiring and entertaining audiences from all over the region.

August

The 1000 Islands Poker Run (Gananoque – Brockville - Prescott) is a popular event for many who make the boat trip along the St. Lawrence River. An estimated 50,000 people view and take part in this annual experience that threads the River connection between Confederation Basin in Kingston with Brockville and Prescott.

AutoMotion (Brockville) is a riverfront car show for all types of cars - from old Model T's to the more current Fast & Furious styles. There are over 500 cars showcased, every year.

Athens’ Cornfest (Athens) is an annual festival that allows you to be welcomed into the heart of village life. A few of the many features include live music all day long and fresh buttered corn made using power from an old fashioned steam engine.

Brockville Ribfest (Brockville) features many of the top Ribbers (or, Rib chefs) from all over North America. But, attendees can enjoy more than just delicious food at this festival – there is also a kidz zone with fun games and rides, musical entertainment, and a silent auction.

Merrickville Fair (Merrickville) has been presented to the public every year since 1832. There are horse shows, cattle shows, a demolition derby, and more exciting entertainment offerings every year.

Rideau Valley Art Festival (Westport) features over 60 of Canada’s top artists and artisans. The art pieces are available for both viewing, and sale, during this festival.

September

Labour Day Festival (North Augusta) There are many things happening every year in this festival, such as a parade, baseball tournaments and many other small attractions and games.

Labourfest (Cardinal) is an annual event that includes a midway, mixed slow-pitch tournament, parade, childrens' races, scavenger hunt, volleyball tournament, "survivor challenge", pirate ship competition, live entertainment, music all weekend - something for everyone!

Lyndhurst Turkey Festival (Lyndhurst) is a free day of fun including a quilt show, antique car show, craft sale, horse and wagon rides, an indoor garage sale, silent auction, golf tournament, live entertainment and several prize draws. The festival also has many free activities for children such as a fishing contest, petting zoo, pony rides, games, carnival rides, crafts, a reptile show and more.

Spencerville Fair (Spencerville) is an annual celebration of harvest that has been presented for the surrounding communities of Spencerville since 1855. Every year more than 25,000 attendees come to enjoy the many rides and games, the Saturday parade, numerous exhibits, the giant pumpkin contest, teen and adult dances, cotton candy, bands, horse races, barbecues, socials, and the fair ambassador competition.
