Ambulance, Fire and Police

If you are worried about your life, or the life of another person, call 911 right away. It is free to call this number from any phone. The operator will talk with you until help arrives. If you do not speak English, 911 operators have access to translators who speak more than 140 languages. It is important that you only call 911 when there is real emergency. If you call 911, and there is no emergency, you could receive a fine and have to pay money for the offence. Settlement.org offers more information on calling 911.

Medical Emergency (non life-threatening)

Pets

If your pet is sick or injured, or if you see an animal in distress, contact the Ontario SPCA Hotline at 1-888-668-7722. If it is an emergency after regular business hours, press 1.
